Hospice Owners Face Prison, Pay $2.5M in Vegas Medicare Fraud

A former doctor and his partner will go to prison and pay millions in restitution in connection with a $7.1 million Medicare fraud case at three Las Vegas facilities.

The sentencing announced April 18 by the Department of Justice comes after Camilo Q. Primero and Aurora S. Beltran pleaded guilty to money laundering and conspiracy to commit health-care fraud in U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada. Primero and Beltran will serve 33 months in prison and three years of supervised release as well as pay roughly $2.5 million in restitution.
