Honduras Dumps Cuban Doctors, Depriving Havana of More Revenue

Honduras became the latest nation to announce it will quit using Cuban medical workers, as Washington continues to choke off sources of funding for the government in Havana.

Nearly 130 Cuban doctors and nurses will be leaving the Central American country after their two-year contract expires this week, Agence France-Presse reported, citing official sources.

Secretary of Communications Jose Augusto Argueta confirmed to HCH Television that the program is ending, but said clinics and hospitals run by the Cubans would “keep functioning until we can make the full transition to Honduran doctors.”
