The Senate Finance Committee and the Biden administration are investigating possible conflicts of interest over a nonprofit organ donation group’s hiring of a former executive branch technology expert.
The concern centers on the role of Ankit Mathur, who became chief technology officer at the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) in March. Mathur was to slated become UNOS’ chief information officer after leaving his previous job as chief delivery officer at US Digital Service, a technology unit within the Executive Office of the President of the US, according to HHS and committee letters made available to Bloomberg Law.
