The Health Resources and Services Administration has awarded more than $147 million to 49 recipients to help further its initiative “Ending the HIV Epidemic in the US,” according to a news release Thursday.
The funding will support linking people with HIV, especially people in states and metropolitan areas with the highest levels of HIV transmission, to care, support, and treatment, the Department of Health and Human Services said. About $139 million was awarded to metropolitan areas and states, and about $8 million was awarded to two nonprofit organizations.
