HHS, Emdeon Announce Effort to Donate EHRs to Providers in Underserved N.J. Areas

The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health and Emdeon Inc. Dec. 13 announced a program under which Emdeon will donate electronic health record software and services to physicians in small practices in underserved communities in New Jersey.

The initiative aims to foster broader adoption and use of EHRs and to support national efforts to reduce health disparities affecting minorities by providing health information technology education to providers and incorporating technology into their practices, according to Emdeon.
