An appeal over a decision striking a Trump Administration rule that would have allowed health-care workers to use their religious or moral beliefs to justify their refusal to treat or work with certain patients has been halted, as the Second Circuit removed the case from its oral argument calendar Friday.
The U.S. Health and Humans Services Department asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit Thursday not to hear arguments in consolidated cases as scheduled for March 17 because the agency’s new leadership needs time to evaluate the rule and the issues it raises.
