California’s lawsuit challenging Trump administration rules that allow certain employers to opt out of paying for birth control in their employee health plans should be halted pending review by President Joe Biden’s administration, the government said.
New leadership at the Health and Human Services, Labor, and Treasury departments should be given time to evaluate the rules that created a moral exemption and expanded a religious exemption to Obamacare’s contraceptive coverage requirement before proceeding with their defense, the government told the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
