Health-care technology company Advanced Data Processing Inc.—doing business as Intermedix Corp.—agreed May 3 to settle a class action alleging that the company failed to safeguard protected health information (Weinberg v. Advanced Data Processing, Inc., 2016 BL 142072, S.D. Fla., 15-cv-61598, 5/3/16).
Judge Beth Bloom of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida approved the settlement order, under which the parties agreed to dismiss the plaintiff’s claims with prejudice, and class claims without prejudice. The parties also agreed to forgo attorneys’ fees, costs and other expenses.
