HCA Faces False Claims Lawsuit Over Physician Deals

The Hospital Corp. of America (HCA) will face continued litigation in a False Claims Act (FCA) lawsuit, filed by a whistle-blower who alleged HCA engaged in a kickback scheme to induce physician referrals, after a federal district court in Florida partially denied an HCA motion to dismiss the lawsuit Jan. 28 (United States ex rel. Bingham v. HCA, Inc., 2016 BL 23440, S.D. Fla., 1:13-cv-23671-MGC, 1/28/16).
