Sen. Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) announced Friday that she’ll introduce legislation next week to stop the Biden administration from implementing a proposed minimum mandatory staffing requirement for nursing homes.
In a speech on the Senate floor, Fischer criticized the proposal by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, saying it would cause nursing homes across the country to close and would be especially harmful to rural facilities that have been hit hard by an industry-wide labor shortage.
