Google Inc. announced June 24 it will retire its personal health record storage system, Google Health, due to low uptake of the product, according to an official company blog post.
Google said the product “didn’t catch on the way we would have hoped” but noted that Google Health served as an “influential” model for others. Google Health will be retired Jan. 1, 2012.
According to the announcement, information stored in individuals’ personal health records will be still be available for download and transfer from that date until 2013. In the coming weeks Google will be providing Google Health users ...
