Google, University of Chicago Beat Health Info Privacy Claims

Google LLC and the University of Chicago won dismissal of several claims asserted by a former medical center patient whose private health information allegedly was sold to the technology company to enable it to build a medical analytics tool, in a ruling by a federal court in Illinois.

Matt Dinerstein didn’t adequately plead that he suffered damages as a result of the alleged breach of the university’s contractual duty to keep his health information private, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said Sept. 4.
