Georgia Moves to Extend Medicaid Waiver With Work Requirement

The state of Georgia applied to extend its contested Medicaid expansion program, which includes a work requirement for qualifying adults.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced this week that it had received Georgia’s April 28 application to extend its Pathways to Coverage program by a minimum of five years.

The program expands Medicaid coverage to individuals making up to 100% of the federal poverty level. Adult applicants who meet the eligibility threshold are required to maintain and report 80 hours of “qualifying hours and activities” (QHA) per month, which include traditional employment, job training, vocational rehabilitation, community service, ...
