Georgia Medical Practices, Whistleblower Settle Kickback Case

Georgia-based medical practices and a whistleblower reached a settlement in a False Claims Act suit accusing the defendants of engaging in a kickback scheme by relying on services from laboratories the owner of the practices also owned.

Chief Judge Leigh Martin May of the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia said in a Tuesday order the case is administratively closed, which followed a joint notice of settlement from whistleblower Monica McKoy, and defendants Atlanta Primary Care Peachtree PC, Newnan Family Medicine Associates PC, and Cecil Bennett.
