A Georgia sheriff’s deputy can seek payment for gender-affirming surgery from her county-provided health insurance plan while an appeal proceeds contesting her win in a sex discrimination suit.
The US District Court for the Middle District of Georgia refused to lift a permanent injunction granting Anna Lange the relief she sought in a case alleging that the plan’s coverage exclusion violated Title VII, which prohibits discrimination based on sex in the terms and conditions of employment.
