Two Florida health-care clinics are facing a lawsuit from GEICO that alleges they billed the insurance giant millions of dollars in charges for unlawful and medically unnecessary services for car accident victims.
The lawsuit filed Monday in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida claims that Miami-based clinics Choices Healthcare and Angels Diagnostic group colluded with their employed physicians to provide “fraudulent protocols designed to maximize the billing that the Defendants could submit to insurers.”
GEICO claims it had paid over $2.4 million in unnecessary reimbursement because of the defendants’ actions.
