Former DOL Officials Urge Lawmakers to Oppose Benefits Bill

A bill that would make it more difficult for plaintiffs to sue over financial arrangements for employee benefits plans would shield bad actors, a group of former Labor Department officials told Congress Thursday.

Phyllis C. Borzi, who led the Employee Benefits Security Administration under former President Barack Obama, led a group of eight former officials spanning multiple administrations in opposing H.R. 6084, sponsored by Rep. Randy Fine (R-Fla.).
