Florida Trans Adults Seek to Block Rules Impeding Access to Care

Adult transgender Floridians asked a federal court to halt the state’s enforcement of provisions that already are preventing them from receiving medically necessary treatments for gender dysphoria.

Informed consent, physician-only, and other requirements imposed by Florida’s SB 254 have resulted in the cancellation of already-scheduled gender-affirming surgeries and a dearth of medical professionals able to provide care, four adult plaintiffs said in a brief filed Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Florida.
