Florida Oncologists Lose Battle Over Hospital Privileges

A Florida hospital didn’t violate the rights of seven physicians when it refused to renew their medical staff privileges, the Middle District of Florida said.

Parrish Medical Center’s reason for denying the oncologists’ reappointment applications was reasonable, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida said. The hospital based its decision on the physicians’ employer’s refusal to turn over records the hospital needed for its reaccreditation process. PMC is operated by the North Brevard County Hospital District.
