Florida-based H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute Hospital Inc. has agreed to pay more than $19.5 million to resolve its civil liability under the False Claims Act for allegedly submitting improper claims to federal health-care programs, the Justice Department said Thursday.
From 2014 to 2020, Moffitt allegedly submitted claims to federal health-care programs for services that were not reimbursable under Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services rules governing reimbursement for clinical care provided in connection with clinical research trials, according to the DOJ.
