Fired CDC Director to Testify in Senate on Turmoil at the Agency

Top leaders who were recently ousted from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will testify in a Senate health hearing on Sept. 17.

Former CDC director Susan Monarez, who was fired after a clash with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and former Chief Medical Officer Debra Houry are among those set to discuss recent turmoil at the agency, including the departure of top officials, according to a release from the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions committee.
