A final rule dictating 2022 Medicare payment rates for home health care cleared White House review and can publish at any time.
The proposed rule (RIN 0938-AU37) from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services called for a 1.8% increase in payments for home health agencies.
The CMS is encouraging increased use of a value-based care model, which reimburses providers based on quality of care rather than quantity. The proposed rule suggests expanding the Home Health Value-Based Purchasing Model to incentivize improving quality of care.
