Fifth Circuit Again Allows Texas to Halt Most Abortions

Texas may halt drug-induced abortions and abortions for women who are 18 weeks pregnant as of Tuesday under the state’s emergency coronavirus order, the Fifth Circuit said Monday.

The federal appeals court granted the state’s request for a writ of mandamus and partially vacated a temporary restraining order that prohibited the state from enforcing the order that abortion providers said imposed a blanket ban on abortions.
