Few Plans for Getting Tough on Opioid Wholesalers (Corrected)

House lawmakers will probe executives from several pharmaceutical distribution companies on how millions of painkillers ended up in small towns in West Virginia, but they don’t yet have plans to add new oversight or regulation of these companies.

Members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee told Bloomberg Law they’re going to ask representatives of some of the largest U.S. drug wholesalers, McKesson Corp., Cardinal Health Inc., AmerisourceBergen Corp., how they flag rogue pharmacies and doctors to stop diversion.
