Feds Seek Enhanced Data on Threats to Medical Supplies, Drugs

The Strategic National Stockpile wants a database to show all the vulnerabilities preventing it from getting necessary supplies—including personal protective equipment, gloves, and drugs, according to the General Services Administration website.

The database would show where the supplies are made, what companies are involved, and any threats to getting those supplies—including natural disasters, port closures, and geopolitical incidents.

This follows criticism of the Trump administration over a lack of N95 respirators, ventilators, and other supplies for health-care workers and facilities. Health providers have struggled to get those supplies or drugs during the pandemic because so many are made overseas. ...
