Former Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis’ request to move health-care fraud allegations against him to a court in Maryland or Northern Virginia should be denied, federal prosecutors told the Eastern District of Kentucky.
The request to transfer the case is “a veiled attempt to move the proceedings against him to a place where he enjoyed a long and successful NFL career,” federal prosecutors told the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky on Monday.
The case belongs in the Eastern District of Kentucky, where fraudulent misrepresentations were sent, prosecutors told the court.
