FDA to Revoke 52 Food Standards in Trump-Led Regulatory Rollback

The US FDA said it will revoke or propose to revoke 52 “outdated” food standards as part of a deregulatory effort backed by the Trump administration.

  • Standards cover canned fruits, dairy, baked goods, macaroni products and other foods

  • Action part of ongoing FDA analysis of over 250 food standards of identity
    • Direct final rule issued for 11 canned fruit and vegetable standards
