The FDA is seeking information on how to increase access to nonprescription drugs, treatments that are intended to provide temporary relief of minor symptoms and can be obtained without a doctor’s supervision.
The Food and Drug Adminsitration’s request for information issued Monday asks drugmakers, health-care providers, consumers, and other interested parties to share their perspectives with the agency on the development of drugs for nonprescription use and opportunities to improve access to them. The agency aims to use the information submitted for a public meeting intended to be held in 2026, according to the notice.
