FDA Revamp Begins With the Departure of a Marty Makary Ally (1)

A key ally of former Food and Drug Administration commissioner Marty Makary is departing the agency, according to people familiar with the matter. It’s expected to be the first in a series of changes the Trump administration will make to create a clean slate at the agency.

Tracy Beth Høeg, who’d been serving as acting director of the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation, is leaving immediately, the people said. Michael Davis, currently the center’s deputy director, will become acting director, according to the people.
