FDA Reinstates Fired Probationary Workers After Judge’s Order

The FDA is reinstating fired probationary workers after a federal judge ruled their terminations were unlawful and must be rescinded.

Employees were informed Sunday that their termination action is canceled and they will remain on administrative leave status until further notice, according to an email sent to staff from FDA Chief Talent Officer Melanie Keller that was obtained by Bloomberg Law.

The reinstatement comes after Judge James Bredar of the US District Court for the District of Maryland ruled March 13 that the firing of probationary employees at 18 agencies was unlawful.
