FDA Asked to Weigh in on Pregnancy Warning in Pain Relief Suits

The federal judge overseeing multidistrict litigation by families blaming their childrens’ autism on prenatal exposure to acetaminophen pain relievers has asked for the government’s views on the plaintiffs’ proposed warning.

Parents allege that Walmart, CVS, and others that produced or sold store-brand products didn’t adequately warn about the risks of acetaminophen, long considered the only pain reliever that’s safe to use during pregnancy.
