Family Planning, HIV Funding Face Uncertainty Under Trump Pause

Family planning centers and HIV treatment programs that rely on federal funding are at risk of disruptions if the White House proceeds with a pause on grants that has drawn outrage from health advocates and legal analysts.

The memo issued late Monday by acting Office of Management and Budget Director Matthew Vaeth directs federal agencies to “temporarily pause all activities related to obligation or disbursement of all Federal financial assistance,” on areas that include funding for “nongovernmental organizations, DEI,” and “woke gender ideology.”
