Express Scripts Unit to Pay $375K for Alleged Service Lapses

Accredo Health Group Inc., the specialty pharmacy unit of Express Scripts Inc., agreed to pay $375,000 and shore up its operations to settle allegations of delivery delays for life-sustaining medications and other customer-service lapses.

The settlement, announced by New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman (D) March 22, resolved a state investigation prompted by dozens of complaints that Accredo wasn’t meeting the terms of service that give the mail-order pharmacy benefit manager an advantage in competing for business with brick-and-mortar retail pharmacies.
