A former Anthem Blue Cross fraud investigator was among five people with connections to Southern California health clinics to be arrested for their roles in an alleged plot to defraud insurance companies out of $20 million.
Gary Jizmejian, a former senior investigator at the Anthem group responsible for investigating health-care fraud against the company, was arrested May 22 alongside four others after being indicted on federal health-care fraud charges. The co-defendants are accused of submitting at least $20 million in fraudulent claims to health insurance companies, which in turn paid out about $8 million, in part using Anthem’s corporate information ...
