The European Chemicals Agency aims by December to analyze a record number of responses to a consultation on a plan to outlaw PFAS in the European Union, amid speculation that the plan could be delayed or substantially revised.
Work to assess the responses was ongoing, and would feed into opinions that two scientific committees must issue on the per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) prohibition, the Helsinki-based agency said in an emailed statement Friday.
