Ethicon to Face Trial Over Allegedly Defective Pelvic Mesh

A Kentucky woman got a second chance to prove that two medical devices made by Ethicon Inc. caused her severe injuries, after the Sixth Circuit held Friday that her evidence raised several jury questions.

Connie Thacker sued Ethicon and its parent company, Johnson & Johnson, under Kentucky’s Product Liability Act. She alleged that the company defectively designed and failed to warn about defects in two pelvic mesh devices, the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit said.
