EPA Tries New Strategy to Pull Four PFAS Water Limits From Case

The EPA has asked a federal appeals court to sever and place on hold litigation over four of six PFAS drinking water standards the agency set in 2024.

The Environmental Protection Agency’s motion filed Thursday echoes an earlier, court-rejected, vacatur request where the agency sought to accomplish two of this administration’s goals: withdrawing the Biden-era determination that four per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) had to be regulated and withdrawing the unusual approach the agency used to limit those four chemicals.
