Envision Healthcare Sued in Texas Over Surprise Medical Bills

Envision Healthcare Corp. must repay patients for surprise medical bills they received after being treated at in-network hospital emergency rooms by Envision’s non-network providers, a new complaint says.

Envision, through subsidiary EmCare Inc. and local affiliates like Texas’s EmCare IAH Emergency Physicians PLLC, is one of the largest third-party operators of emergency rooms at hospitals throughout the country, Sandeep Kaur told the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas July 9.
