The Department of Energy has made $62 million in funding available for 17 projects related to battery recycling, according to a Thursday news release.
The funding, which comes from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, is dedicated for projects that aim to increase consumer participation in consumer electronics battery recycling and improve the economics of battery recycling, the DOE said.
The selected projects fall under the DOE’s Consumer Electronics Battery Recycling, Reprocessing, and Battery Collection funding opportunity, and the funding will be administered by the DOE’s Vehicle Technologies Office and Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains, according to the DOE. ...
