Elevance Health Skirts Enrollee Attempt to Force GLP-1 Coverage

A federal appeals court shot down a legal challenge to force insurer Elevance Health Inc. to cover GLP-1 weight loss drugs for obesity on discrimination grounds.

Falmouth, Maine, public school employee Rebecca Holland “failed to plausibly state a claim for disability discrimination” under the Affordable Care Act, Judge Lara Montecalvo wrote for the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
