Elevance Earns Split Decision in Medicare Bonus Payments Lawsuit

Only one of nearly two dozen subsidiaries of Elevance Health is entitled to a recalculation of its eligibility for a bonus payment program for Medicare managed care plans, a federal court in the District of Columbia ruled.

Elevance and 23 of its direct and indirect subsidiaries sued the Department of Health and Human Services in the US District Court for the District of Columbia in December 2023 over the plan’s 2024 star ratings, which measure quality and performance for private Medicare Advantage plans.
