The pharmaceutical industry lobby is challenging a recently passed Washington state law that regulates how drugmakers contract with pharmacies in the state.
The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) filed a lawsuit Friday in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington, alleging the state’s S.B. 5981, which prohibits manufacturers from imposing limitations on a pharmacy’s participation in the federal 340B drug discount program, violates the supremacy clause of the US Constitution.
