DOJ Charges Former NIH Official With Hiding Covid Records

A former top National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases scientist and adviser to ex-director Anthony Fauci was indicted by the Justice Department on Tuesday over his alleged role in hiding federal records related to Covid-19 research grants.

The DOJ charged David Morens, a former senior adviser for NIAID’s Office of the Director from 2006 to 2022, with conspiracy against the US, aiding and abetting; destruction, alteration, or falsification of records in federal investigations; and concealment, removal, or mutilation of records.
