Nearly all eligible doctors participated in a Medicare agency program to improve patient care in 2017—beating expectations—and nearly all saw their payments rise, according to a new study.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services wanted 90 percent of eligible doctors to join its Quality Payment Program, but 95 percent of doctors participated, according to a March 20 report. The successful take-up rate defied concerns from some that many doctors might not participate in the merit-based pay system.
