Doctor, 14 Others Charged in $150M Health Insurance Scam

An orthopedic surgeon, his personal lawyer and 13 others were charged with sending more than $150 million in fraudulent bills to insurance companies as part of “one of the largest insurance fraud scams” in California state history, prosecutors announced Sept. 15 (People v. Uwaydah, Cal. Super. Ct., BA425397, charges unsealed 9/15/15; People v. Torres Arnold, Cal. Super. Ct., BA435339, charges unsealed 9/15/15).
