Lawmakers trying to lower prescription drug prices and expand Medicare appear poised to tie those initiatives to President Joe Biden’s American Families Plan, even though the White House proposed addressing them separately.

Biden’s family aid plan, released Wednesday, omits drug-pricing and any proposal to expand public health insurance, according to White House officials. It only proposes making permanent a temporary expansion of Obamacare.
