Deloitte Hit With FTC Complaint Over Texas Medicaid Software (1)

A coalition of legal and data technology groups is urging the FTC to investigate Deloitte Consulting LLP over software they claim has produced inaccurate and unreliable Medicaid eligibility determinations in Texas.

The complaint filed Wednesday with the Federal Trade Commission targets the Texas Integrated Eligibility Redesign System, or TIERS, an automated benefits eligibility system developed and maintained by Deloitte.

The system’s “failure to accurately automate the relevant eligibility rules” has resulted in a “loss of critical health care coverage and inability to access necessary medical care” for hundreds of thousands of Texans, according to the public interest law firm the ...
