The Second Circuit affirmed a lower court’s denial of a former soccer league’s request for a new trial against US Soccer, concluding that it failed to prove a “relevant market” outlining the bounds of competition.
The US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said in a Tuesday order that it found no basis to upset the jury verdict in the North American Soccer League’s case accusing US Soccer and its business partner Major League Soccer of monopolizing the market for top-tier men’s soccer in the US and Canada.
