A deaf student can proceed with her disability bias case against a Texas medical school after a federal judge determined the state defendant wasn’t immune from suit.
Vivian Chen sufficiently stated a failure-to-accommodate claim under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act based on the school’s failure to provide her with American Sign Language interpreters and translation services during classes, the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas said Monday.
