A top Biden administration health official is voicing concerns about the incoming Trump administration and expressing worry over civil servants and health policies in the culture war crosshairs.
Advancement in abortion protections, transgender health care, and disability rights were among the US Department of Health and Human Services efforts touted by the agency’s Office for Civil Rights director Melanie Fontes Rainer on Wednesday. Her remarks came in an HHS event highlighting the administration’s accomplishments less than two weeks before Donald Trump is sworn in as US president.
